Liverpool FC got the spot for the semi finals!

After a tied result in the 1st leg match, Liverpool FC capitalized against Arsenal FC match leaving a (4-2) win on their second leg match and a (5-3) win on aggregate. Arsenal FC's Abou Diaby started the scoring after when he received Alexandr Hleb's short pass and drilled it inside Reina's near post just 13 minutes after start(0-1). On the 30th minute, Sami Hyppia replied to the 1st goal when he met Steven Gerrard's deep cross with a towering header right into the far post(1-1). Then on the 2nd half, goals from Adebayor(2 goals), Torres, Gerrard, and Babel arrived to sum up the (4-2) result in favor of Liverpool. Again, another English Premiere league team went through to the semi finals.

Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC got a draw in their 1st leg match in the Arsenal Stadium - London.

Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC produced only 1 goal each during their 1st leg match in Arsenal Stadium-London. Arsenal FC's Emmanuel Adebayor scored the 1st goal on the 23rd minute of the match after heading in to goal Robin Van Persie's cross giving Arsenal a (1-0) lead. But just after 3 minutes, Liverpool responded immediately when Steven Gerrard bursted into the Arsenal penalty area by beating two players and provided a low cross that Dirk Kuyt slided in to score from(1-1). The rest of the game time did not produce any goal leaving a draw for the two teams.

FC Barcelona secured their semi finals spot after grabbing the second leg match win against FC Schalke on April 9, 2008 in Camp Nou - Barcelona. The Spaniards scored only 1 goal in this match and a (2-0) win on aggregate. Toure delivered the goal on the 43rd minute of the game when the ball landed to him after a n own goal save by Mladen Krstajić. Now, FC Barcelona is headed to face Manchester United FC for the semi final rounds.

After FC Barcelona and FC Schalke's tight match on in Arena AufSchalke - Gelsenkirchen, FC Barcelona emerged as the winner with only 1 goal separating the two contesting teams giving FC Barcelona the lead for the spot in the semi finals of the Champions League. Though the goal arrived in the early 12th minute (1-0) of the game Bojan Krkic scored from close range after Thierry Henry squares to him at the second attempt after his first shot was saved by Manuel Neuer, the game remained goal less until the end of the match.

Chelsea FC retaliated and got their spot for the semi finals.

After the (2-1) defeat at Sükrü Saraçoglu - Istanbul, Chelsea FC retaliated and won their 2nd leg match against Fenerbahce SK at Stamford Bridge-London and got themselves a spot for the semi finals. Chelsea FC got a (0-2) result giving them a (2-3) win against Fenerbahce SK on aggregate. The 1st goal came in the early 4th minute of the game when Frank Lampard's free kick was headed by Michael Ballack and in to the top corner(0-1). Then the 2nd and closure goal came in the closing 87th minute of the game, delivered in closed range beautifully by Frank Lampard after receiving the low cross from Michael Essein(0-2).

Champions League: Fenerbahce SK vs. Chelsea FC Quarter Finals: 1st leg(2-1)

Fenerbahce SK won against Chelsea FC (2-1) at Sükrü Saraçoglu - Istanbul.

Though Chelsea FC got the lead from an own goal by Deivid of Fenerbahce SK at the 13th minute of the game(0-1), the team(Fenerbahce) still got the win against Chelsea during their 1st leg match for the quarter finals of the Champions League. They countered Chelsea's lead during the second half when Kazim Kazim(Fenerbahce) beats the offside trap of the Chelsea's defenders then fires his shot past against Chelsea's keeper, Carlo Cudicini tying the game (1-1) at the 65th minute. The second goal came at the 81th minute when Deivid redeemed himself from the own goal in the 1st half, Deivid unleashed a sensational drive that sent the ball flying into the top corner of the goal giving Fenerbahce the lead (2-1).

Manchester United FC had set their spot for the semi finals.

On the 2nd leg match of Manchester United FC against AS Roma in Old Trafford-Manchester, Man United's striker Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the match at the 70th minute by receiving Owen Hargreaves' cross with a beautiful diving header passing Roma's Doni right side and into the bottom corner, giving MU the lead (1-0) and the assurance for a spot in the semi finals.

Manchester United FC took the lead for the Champions League's Quarter Finals match.


Manchester United FC defeated AS Roma with a score of 0-2 on April 1, 2008 at Stadio Olimpico, Rome for the Champions quarter finals' first leg match. Manchester United took the lead (0-1) at the 39th minute when Christiano Ronaldo received Paul Scholes' cross with a header pointing to the bottom corner. And at the 66th minute, Wayne Rooney scored the closure goal when the ball from Doni's save against the header of Ji-Sung Park came to Rooney's foot and in for the 2nd goal(0-2).
